Myth! You shouldn't use conditioner before installation.
False. You can wash your hair before installation using conditioner or a mask, as otherwise, the hair will become tangled, difficult to comb, and, worst of all, full of static. Ideally, let your hair dry naturally or use a blow dryer, but avoid straightening or curling before installation or applying a lot of styling products. This allows the stylist to see how your hair naturally falls, making it easier to blend with the extensions. Post-installation, this will make life with extensions easier, reducing the need for daily styling or straightening after washing.
Myth! Conditioner shouldn't touch the extensions' bonds
False. It’s often said that conditioner shouldn’t touch the roots or the extension bonds. This isn't true—nothing bad will happen. Of course, if your hair gets oily quickly and you need to wash it often, it's not wise to apply conditioner to your scalp, as conditioner is not meant for the scalp and should be applied starting a few centimeters away from the roots. However, conditioner on the extension bonds won't cause any harm. Modern bonds are strong and won’t loosen or soften because of conditioner.
Myth! Hair shouldn’t be colored right before installation.
False. If you've colored your hair, there's no need to wait before installing extensions. You can install them right away with no issues.
Myth! Hair cannot be washed or colored right after installation
False. Modern keratin bonds are very strong, and if the extensions are installed correctly, you can wash or color your hair immediately after installation without any problems. For tape-in extensions, it's recommended to wait 24 hours.
Myth! Extensions must be washed at least once a week.
False. Wash your hair with extensions as needed, just like your natural hair. If your hair becomes very greasy or if you use organic shampoos that don’t cleanse well, this could, in rare cases, negatively affect the keratin bond. It's recommended to comb your hair before washing.
Myth! Special products are needed for extensions.
False. Extensions don’t need special shampoos, conditioners, or other hair care products. Choose shampoo based on your scalp type, and conditioner or masks based on your hair type. For extensions, use products suitable for long, damaged hair to keep it soft and easy to comb. Deep-cleansing shampoo, dry shampoo, toning masks/shampoos, and spray conditioners are all acceptable. Wash your hair as often as necessary. Massage your scalp as usual, but be gentle with the lengths.
Myth! Extension bonds can't withstand sauna heat.
False. In fact, when going to the sauna, you can apply a mask to your hair to allow the heat to help it absorb better.
Myth! Styling products shouldn't be applied to extension bonds.
False. You can apply styling products without any issues.
Myth! It’s normal for some strands to slip out between maintenance appointments.
False. Strands should stay intact between maintenance sessions. A few hairs shedding during combing is normal, but large amounts shouldn't come out. If this happens, contact your stylist.
Almost a myth 😛! Extensions should be tied up at night.
It’s not necessary, but extensions last longer if tied in a loose braid at night. Comb your hair before and after sleep with oil or a spray conditioner. When swimming, it’s also recommended to tie your hair in a braid.
Don’t sleep with wet hair.
True. While it doesn’t directly cause damage, you'll wake up with hair that’s creased and difficult to manage, possibly requiring a rewash.
Myth! Clip-in extensions can be converted to permanent extensions.
True and false, vast majority of clip-in extensions really can`t be converted .. BUT our clip-ins are made with exactly the same kind of high quality hair as our other extensions so these can indeed be converted.
